So I did a little experimenting with my first pair of skinny jeans from grade 9 that are now too short for me. Forgot to take a before picture of the whole jeans...but this is their original colour(excuse the shitty quality photo booth pics):

Then I cut them, scrunched them up and tied them up with elastic bands randomly. Filled a bucket with pure bleach, and let them soak for about an hour. Took them out, took off the elastic bands, and threw them in the dryer. The heat from the dryer burnt them a little so they've got these cool areas that are sort of rust coloured. This was all verryyy simple and I will probably try it again with more specific placements of the elastic bands so I can get different marbling patterns. Anyway finished product:

I'm glad they taught us rust dying in school.
I bought a couple of pairs of those pastel jeans from Urban Outfitters a few summers ago, and most of them ended up getting cut into shorts. The pink pair were too ugly and uncomfortable to make the cut (pun intended ;);) ) But yeah, I bleached them out a bit and added some dye a few weeks ago, SORTA KINDA inspired by Balmain's palm tree print cotton pants they ended up looking extremely easter eggish

Thank god for Ksubi. Those tee's are perfect to compliment the denim, and one particular pair caught my eye and offered hope.. for my sad easter jeans

So now I'm thinking of taking a trip back to textiles class and dying them with rust. If you've never tried this before (on purpose) you should. It looks awesome. Just remember that youre left with bits of metal in your fabric so if you're planning on sewing over it you might experience some difficulty. Here's a lil video

Remy stole my thunder and blogged about the new topshop. Man I fucking love that place, I got lost in the giant one on oxford street for over three hours last year. As Leslie Arfin so accurately put it, I felt like I was "walking into that Willy Wonka room where there are big ass gummy bears on the trees and mushrooms made of whipped cream and shit." I think my aunt wants to go in May. I am very, very excited.

Anyway. Here are a few of my favourite movies. These are mostly French, because I am very obsessed with all things French and am very adamant about the fact that I will one day live in Paris. I spent a few days there last year and never wanted to leave. My aunt's friend is staying with us for a few days. She's 60-something, has bleach blonde beehive hair, is selling everything she owns, and moving to Paris. Luv her.

When my sister Adrienne lived in Perth four or five years ago, I was allowed the advantage of foresight (They really are ahead of us, not just in timezones). She would send me magazines, my favourites being Frankie and Russh:

I could pull these out right now and still want to wear most of what is shown...from five years ago. They're that good. Well, maybe not.. but last summer we found one and Kara definitely ripped out a page of hairstyles and kept it. So anyways, back when extremely tapered jeans were only accessible to the wealthy in North America, I so badly wanted jeans from Supré Australia. They're good for cheaply acquiring Balmain wannabes and Herve Leger-esque minis. Bad for anything else..this is a brand geared towards young teens

Kookai on the other hand, is still relavant and I check their lookbook everyyy season. If you were weird and wanted to buy all of your fall clothes right now, you could! They're comparable to Zara, maybe a little pricier, but the models look better and the clothes fit like a dream. thx adrienne
